Liverpool PSDA were commissioned to provide a full architectural service from inception to completion.
The project consisted of the upgrading of an existing disused office block and associated car parking area which involved stripping out all internal walls, partitions and services together with the external cladding and finishes to leave the original concrete frame (see photographs) The building was then re-clad with a proprietary metal flat panel system with new windows and roofing, re-using the original structure, which was adapted to suit. New external pods were added to provide the staircases to comply with means of escape requirements. The existing car parking was extended and re-surfaced with new kerbs and drainage to provide sufficient spaces for the end user. Internally the building has high quality lifts, staircases & balustrades, toilets and is fully air conditioned.
The completed building and associated car parking achieved a BREAM rating of Very Good. The building also received a British Council for Offices regional award for excellence.
